A Kaycee man died last week as a result of a one-vehicle rollover accident, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Stuart Gosney, 54, was driving a pickup south on Wyoming Highway 196 about five miles north of Kaycee on Monday, Oct. 3, according to the news release from Patrol Sgt. David Wagener.

At 4:48 p.m., the pickup drifted off the highway and struck a delineator post. Gosney overcorrected the pickup, which left the highway to the west down a steep embankment where it tripped and rolled.

Gosney was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected, and was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Mont. He died on Oct. 7.

The Highway Patrol is investigating alcohol and drug use as contributing factors in this crash.

This marked the 95th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016, compared to 117 fatalities during this same time period last year.
