CASPER POLICE ON MONDAY RELEASED CHARGING PAPERS FILED IN SUPPORT OF A FIRST-DEGREE MURDER CHARGE FOLLOWING A FATAL SHOOTING IN NORTH CASPER EARLY FRIDAY.

32-YEAR-OLD JASON JOHN HAD HIS BOND SET AT $150,000 DURING HIS INITIAL APPEARANCE ON MONDAY.

ACCORDING TO THE AFFIDAVIT RELEASED TO NEWS MEDIA, OFFICERS RESPONDED TO 1250 N. CENTER, SPACE #75 FOR A REPORTED SHOOTING AT 4:12 A.M. FRIDAY.

OFFICERS ARRIVED AND IDENTIFIED 29-YEAR-OLD WESLEY WILLOW, JR., ON THE FLOOR OF THE TRAILER. WILLOW WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD ON SCENE BY EMS.

OFFICERS SAW MULTIPLE SPENT RIFLE SHELL CASINGS ON THE FLOOR OF THE LIVING ROOM. AN AR-15/M4 STYLE RIFLE WAS LOCATED AT THE FOOT OF A BED IN THE WESTERNMOST BEDROOM.

WHILE AT THE SCENE, JOHN MADE "NUMEROUS EXCITED UTTERANCES UNSOLICITED BY OFFICERS," THE AFFIDAVIT STATES. EVERYTHING JOHN SAID INDICATED THAT HE HAD SHOT WILLOW.

A WITNESS TOLD POLICE THAT WILLOW'S GIRLFRIEND HAD RECEIVED UPSETTING TEXT MESSAGES FROM JOHN, AND WILLOW WENT OVER TO JOHN'S HOUSE TO CONFRONT HIM. THE WITNESS AND WILLOW'S GIRLFRIEND WENT ALONG.

JOHN, THROUGH HIS ATTORNEYS, TOLD POLICE THAT HE WARNED THEM TO STAY AWAY, AND SHOT WILLOW AFTER WILLOW ENTERED THE TRAILER AND CHARGED AT HIM.

HOWEVER, ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAD BEEN WITH WILLOW SAYS THE FRONT DOOR WAS NEVER CLOSED, AND WILLOW WAS SHOT AS HE WALKED UP THE FRONT STEPS OF JOHN'S TRAILER, THEN FELL INSIDE THROUGH THE OPEN FRONT DOOR.

POLICE DESCRIBE JOHN AS STANDING 6'4" TALL AND WEIGHING 275 POUNDS. WILLOW WAS 5'7" AND WEIGHED 160 POUNDS.

MULTIPLE EMPTY SHELL CASINGS WERE RECOVERED FROM THE SCENE, AND MULTIPLE ENTRY WOUNDS WERE FOUND TO THE FRONT AND BACK OF WILLOW. BULLET HOLES PENETRATED WILLOW AT AN UPWARD ANGLE, POLICE SAY, DESPITE THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HE AND JOHN.

THREE BULLET HOLES WERE FOUND IN THE FLOOR WHERE WILLOW'S BODY HAD BEEN FOUND. EVIDENCE TECHNICIANS SAID THE TRAJECTORIES WERE CONSISTENT WITH A PERSON FIRING FROM A STANDING POSITION DIRECTLY DOWNWARD INTO WILLOW'S BODY.

THE WORK TO FIND AN AIRLINE TO SERVICE THE CITY OF CHEYENNE HAS PAID OFF.

THE WYOMING TRIBUNE EAGLE REPORTS THAT AMERICAN AIRLINES WILL, THROUGH ITS SKYWEST AFFILIATE, OFFER ONE FLIGHT A DAY TO DALLAS-FORT WORTH. THE ROUGHLY TWO-HOUR FLIGHT WILL CONNECT CHEYENNE WITH THE AMERICAN HUB IN DFW AND THAT IN TURN CAN CONNECT PASSENGERS WITH PRETTY MUCH ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

THE EQUIPMENT FOR THE ROUTE WILL BE THE CANADIAN-BUILT BOMBARDIER CRJ-200 REGIONAL JET THAT CAN CARRY FROM 40-50 PASSENGERS.

THE FLIGHTS WILL BEGIN NOVEMBER 4TH.

THE CITY HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR AN AIR CARRIER TO SERVICE CHEYENNE SINCE MARCH WHEN GREAT LAKES AIRLINES FOLDED ITS TENT AND STOPPED FLIGHTS FROM THE CAPITAL CITY.

THIS ROUTE WILL BE ESPECIALLY USEFUL FOR THOSE IN THE ENERGY INDUSTRY WHO REGULARLY TRAVEL TO TEXAS ON BUSINESS. =============================

NORMALLY THIS TIME OF YEAR, THE PRICE OF GASOLINE IS HEADING UP AS PEOPLE HIT THE ROAD FOR VACATION.

BUT THIS WEEK, DAN MCTEAGUE OF GASBUDDY DOT COM SAYS, THE PRICE IS GOING DOWN.

AND STRANGER STILL, THE NATIONAL AVERAGE PRICE OF GAS IS LOWER THAN WYOMING.

PART OF THIS IS DRIVEN BY THE PRICE OF OIL BEING BELOW $70 A BARREL, AND TENSIONS OVER TRADE TARIFFS AND RENEWED SANCTIONS ON IRAN.
