A juvenile was arrested Friday after allegedly making a false threat toward Natrona County High School which prompted the school to be placed on lockout and law enforcement officers armed with rifles to clear the building.

As is typical in arrests of juveniles, the Casper Police Department declined to name the suspect or release their age. Spokeswoman Rebekah Ladd said she could not confirm whether the suspect is a student at NCHS.

The unsubstantiated threat against Casper Classical Academy, which came shortly after the false report of a suspicious person with a gun at NCHS, is also believed to have been reported falsely, though it was less severe in nature, Ladd said.

Both incidents remain under investigation.

This developing story will be updated.
