A Casper woman now admits she tried to pass bad checks.

Jennifer Martin has changed her plea to guilty on one count of check fraud and one count of obtaining property under false pretenses.

Investigators say Martin opened at least two bank accounts, and deposited checks from one bank into her other account, attempting to show a balance to withdraw cash.

Employees got suspicious when a pattern developed and it was determined that Martin had insufficient funds.

Investigators later discovered she had purchased a car, and then tried a similar check cash scheme at banks in Cheyenne.

The banks reported a loss of $4,900 from the check scheme, and the car dealership reported a loss of $3,300.
