A Casper man is accused of pointing a gun at two people during an argument.

Thirty-two year old James Young has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and battery by way of a drawn deadly weapon, and two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to threaten the life of another.

The Casper Police Department says just before 10pm on Friday, September 2nd, Young and the victim were at the Loaf N' Jug store on North McKinley Street, when an argument took place, regarding Young not giving another person a ride.

At some point, Young pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the victim.

The clerk inside the store said she saw the argument take place, at which point she locked the doors and called the police.

When the clerk saw the gun, she took cover, then saw Young had the gun to the victim's head, then later pointed the gun at the clerk as he was leaving.

Another person in the parking lot told officers she saw someone pointing a gun at the store.

When interviewed Young claimed self defense and that the victim had spit in his mouth.

He added that he had a very bad temper and would not hit a woman, but did say he would shoot the victim in the knees and leave her in the parking lot.

Police were able to find the gun and are reviewing security camera footage.

Young is awaiting trial on $35,000 bond, and could face up to 10 years in prison on each aggravated assault charge, and up to five years in prison on each possession charge if convicted.
