A Casper man faces a number of charges after trying to flee from police.

Thirty-seven year old James Putnam, has been charged with burglary, driving while under suspension, eluding, and three other charges.

Prosecutors say on the afternoon of Friday,  February 10th, officers saw Putnam driving, and knew from previous encounters that he had a suspended license.

Putnam fled and eventually eluded police, but witnesses later told officers where he was.

He was eventually tracked down to a home he had broken into.

Other people told police that their shoes were missing, and investigators determined that Putnam had swiped them, in order to disguise his tracks in the snow.

Prosecutors told a judge that Putnam was already out on bail for a DUI and child endangerment meth charges.

He is currently being held on $7,500 bond and could face up to ten years in prison if convicted.
