A registered sex offender denies that he has re-offended.

Twenty-eight year old James Jaure has pleaded not guilty to one charge of first degree sexual abuse of a minor, one charge of second degree sexual abuse of a minor, and three counts of third degree sexual abuse of a minor.

At least three victims told investigators that over the course of the past year, they became friends with Jaure, because they believed him to be a volunteer youth group leader at a Casper church.

It turns out he was a janitor and was using an alias.

The victims say at various times, Jaure attempted, or did commit various sexual acts with them, such as groping or asking the victims to send sexual photos.

Jaure was convicted of similar sex crimes in Cheyenne in 2004.

He is being held on $100,000 bond awaiting trial.

He could face between 25-and-50 years in prison on the first degree charge, 20 years on the second degree charge, and 15 years on each third degree charge if convicted.
