A Casper man involved in an armed standoff remains behind bars.

Twenty-year-old Jacob Dziewic appeared in court on Thursday, September 6th and waived his right to a preliminary hearing

Prosecutors have charged him with one count of Felony Possession of a Firearm, three counts of Felonious Restraint and one count of Aggravated Assault in connection to an armed standoff at the west-side Casper Super 8 motel in August.

Investigators say one of the alleged hostages said that she, her boyfriend and two other people were visiting Dziewic and twenty-year-old Joey Geelan at the hotel.

She said Dziewic and Geelan left for awhile and when they returned, they had a suitcase full of drugs and started showing off their guns.

Court records indicate the pair later refused to allow anyone to leave and police arrived a short time later.

Police say Geelan killed himself, about an hour after Dziewic surrendered to authorities.

Prosecutors say Dziewic was on probation at the time on an unrelated charge.

He is being held on two-hundred thousand dollars bond awaiting trial.
