JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Jackson students may be getting some quiet time in upcoming school years but not because they did something wrong. Teton County School District No. 1 administrators are studying the effectiveness of meditation in improving student test scores. Superintendent Pam Shea says the district will research the effects of quiet time and how to implement it. A school board trustee brought up the idea of school meditation after reading about a study by the University of California, Santa Barbara. The study found that students who practiced learning to focus their thoughts did better on a test than students who participated in a nutritional program.
