Jackson Fire Fighters Unionize
JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Jackson firefighters have formed a labor union under the International Association of Firefighters.
The new union known as Local 5067, or Jackson Hole Professional Firefighters, made the announcement Monday in a joint news release with Jackson Hole Fire/EMS.
The union is comprised of full-time emergency employees working for Jackson Hole Fire/EMS and Teton County. The group includes dual role firefighter EMTs and paramedics who respond to fires and medical emergencies.
Fire officials say public safety remains a top priority for the union.
