ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) — Sweetwater County investigators are trying to piece together the events that led to the death of a man near Green River.

Investigators said Tuesday that 18-year-old Vernon Johnson of Rock Springs went for a drive Dec. 30 with two teenage girls when he wrecked his car.

Authorities said the trio was walking to seek help and stopped to rest when Johnson collapsed and died. Investigators say the man may have died from hypothermia from the cold weather or injuries he may have suffered in the accident.
