The city of Casper will hold an interactive public forum next week regarding the renewal of the city's optional one-cent sales tax.

Assistant to the city manager Fleur Tremel says live polling will be used at the meeting to gauge how residents want future one-cent funds to be spent if voters decide to renew the tax later this year.

“We’ll go through some of the history of one-cent, what one-cent does for our community, and then we will take a poll on what citizens would like us to spend one-cent money on,” Tremel said. “Basically, the purpose (of the meeting) is to educate.”

Natrona County residents will decide whether they want to renew the sales tax during November's midterm election.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Fort Caspar Museum.
