Non-profit home buyer education organization, Wyoming Housing Network has matching funds available that could entice wanna be home buyers to take the next step.

W-H-N's new EARN program offers a chance for qualified Natrona County residents to turn around faulty credit, save for a purchase and offer matching dollars to boot.

"Not every body is ready to buy a home. Their credit scores aren't high enough. They have too much debt and so the EARN program helps households that are motivated to become homeowers resolve those credit issues."

CEO Greg Hancock says applicants need a credit score of at least 550. With that he says it can take about 18 months. Program fees are $135 dollar and matching funds are limited, but Hancock says, it could mean doubling dollars saved toward closing costs and down payment.
