Heavy Rain & T-Storms Through Sunday, Smaller Chance For Rain On Memorial Day

A large, slow-moving weather system will remained settled over the state of Wyoming for the rest of today, Saturday, and Sunday.  Expect cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, areas of patchy fog (mainly early and late), and cooler than normal temperatures during this time.  Rain showers and thunderstorms will also be likely.  Heavy rain and minor flooding will be possible today, mainly across central and eastern Wyoming.  Another round of heavy rain will then be likely by Saturday afternoon into mid-day Sunday, especially for central and southeastern parts of the state.  This will cause visibility to be lowered at times along I-25 (Colorado state line to Glendo), I-80 (Nebraska state line to Rawlins), and US-85 (Colorado state line to Torrington).  Areas of standing water will be found across most roadways as well.  Any storms that develop in eastern Wyoming could also be strong and capable of producing hail and damaging winds.  Temperatures could be cold enough across elevations above 8,000 feet on Saturday night for a rain/snow mix, but no major travel concerns are expected.  Daytime highs over the next several days will stay in the 50's and 60's, while overnight lows will fall into the 30's and 40's.

This weather system will slowly move out of the region on Monday.  Expect partially clearing skies for Memorial Day, but there will still be a chance for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures will also be warmer and remain near or just a few degrees below average.
