A Guernsey man is dead after the car he was driving struck a deer north of Chugwater Saturday night.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 31-year-old Jason Harmon was northbound on I-25 about two miles north of Chugwater, when he hit a deer. The deer came through the windshield, killing Harmon.

After striking the deer, Harmon's car left I-25 to the east, crashed through two fences, traversed an embankment, crossed over another roadway and crashed into a pile of rocks before coming to rest.

Harmon was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

His death marked the 133rd highway fatality in Wyoming for 2015 compared to 135 during the same time period in 2014.
