JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — The public will have access to a boat-launching site on the Snake River near Jackson thanks to the purchase of a 40-acre parcel along the river by two groups.

The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports (http://bit.ly/t2rnEk ) that the Jackson Hole Land Trust and the LOR Foundation purchased almost 40 acres on the Snake River on Wednesday.

The purchase could lead to development of a park and improvement of the boat ramp. It could also allow development of a path bridge north of Highway 22. The Conservation Fund put up money for the purchase and the land trust has two years to repay the fund.

The groups bought the land, known as the River Springs parcel, from Jim Walter and Crystal Creek Capital LLC.
