Wyoming National Guard soldiers on duty in Kosovo got a visit from home over the weekend.

Governor Matt Mead, First Lady Carol Mead and Wyoming’s Adjutant General, Major General Luke Reiner, arrived in Kosovo Friday afternoon and left early Sunday.

While there they met with 24 Soldiers from Detachment 3, B Company, 777th Aviation medical evacuation unit, better known as "Charlie Med".

Governor Mead says he was honored to meet them, see where they work, see where they live and recognize the vital job they're doing.  "Talking to the leadership there, on base where we spent our time, they recognize that the folks from Wyoming have a great work ethic. There doing a great job."

The unit deployed in September for one year.

“Charlie Med" is the most deployed unit within the Wyoming National Guard.
