GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — A jury has convicted a Gillette man of kidnapping and sexually assaulting his estranged wife.

The man was found guilty on Thursday after his wife testified that he duct-taped her and threatened to kill her and himself if she did not perform sexual acts on him in January.

The Associated Press is not naming the man because his relationship with the woman would identify a victim of sexual assault.

Defense attorney Bill Disney argued there was no evidence of injury to the woman. The Gillette New Record reports (http://bit.ly/1ogyTjS ) the man told the jury he hugged the woman and placed the tape over her mouth briefly to "shut her up."

The woman testified she did whatever she could do to save her own life.

The man's sentencing is in January.
