The Gillette girls overwhelmed Natrona in the 2nd quarter and went on to defeat NC 68-43 in the first round of the 4A State Tournament at Kelly Walsh on Thursday night. Gillette's pressure defense forced a whopping 33 turnovers and the Camels scored 36 points off those turnovers. Rylee Hladky was outstanding for Gillette with 29 points, 21 of those came in the first half. Baylee Hamlin had 13 as the Camels went 8-39 from 3 point land in the game. Natrona drops to 13-11 on the year and were led in scoring by Kristy Dick with 14 and Emily Robertson with 13. The Fillies play Kelly Walsh in the consolation round tomorrow. Gillette ups their record to 22-5 and will meet Cheyenne Central in the 4A semi-finals Friday at the Casper Events Center.
