Cheyenne authorities say a car crashed into a natural gas pipeline overnight, tearing it open and prompting an evacuation of nearby homes. No injuries were reported.

Police say the car hit the line at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

People living within one or two blocks of the break were told to evacuate. They were allowed to return about two hours later after utility workers shut off the damaged line and inspected the area.

Police identified the driver as 37-year-old Susan Raner of Cheyenne. She was cited on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

No phone number could be found for her. Authorities say she was checked for injures and refused treatment.

Police say her passenger, 41-year-old John Raner Cheyenne, didn't appear to be injured.
