JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Officials with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department are asking people in the Jackson area to show patience with moose and other wildlife that can show up in residential areas during winter months.

Doug Brimeyer is Jackson Wildlife Biologist with the game department. He says the office has received calls from citizens concerned about a moose in residential areas.

Brimeyer says people need to control their pets and give wildlife plenty of room. He warns that wearing headphones can make people less aware of their surroundings.

If an animal is charging people or posing a threat, he says the game department will respond.
