A candlelight tour of Fort Caspar happens this weekend. Fort Caspar Museum Manager, Rick Young, says its a chance to see the fort  in a different light.

"Its an opportunity for people to come out and tour the fort by candlelight. There will be a number of re-enactors in period dress. So for the local community its a chance to see the fort in a way that you normally don't, being, in the winter and at night. Its a different perspective on how the fort looks."

Young, says the fort was active in the early 1860s with army, pioneers and mountain men. Re-enactors will be there to give a sense of what life was like in those times.

In addition, the Candle light Event includes a chance to meet with the author of a new history of Natrona County.

"We have just recently released a new Natrona County history book. It's called "Natrona County; People, Place and Time". That evening between 6 and 9 Dr Rebecca Hunt, who is the author, will be here signing books.  So it would be an opportunity to come see the fort and maybe pick up a book for yourself or maybe as a Christmas present."

Proceeds from that new pictorial history go back to support the Fort Caspar Museum Association.

The Candlelight Event starts at 6:00 p.m. with cannon demonstrations through out the evening. The event is free and open to the public.
