Wyoming's First Lady is encouraging parents and children to get involved in a good book.

Governor Matt Mead's wife Carol, was at the Natrona County Public Library on Monday March 18th, reading a few stories to several dozen children.

Mead says she is trying to set a good parenting example.

"My initiative as first lady is literacy, children's issues and literacy, and both the Governor and I feel that children are our greatest asset here in Wyoming and to the extent that we can teach them to become good readers at a young age, they'll be able to educate themselves for a life-time and that truly is I think the key to having a successful adult life, being able to educate yourself."

First Lady Mead started the Books and Brownies tour across Wyoming last year.
