Estimated 38K Spectators Saw High School Rodeo

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) — An estimated 38,000 spectators turned out for 2012 National High School Finals Rodeo held in Rock Springs.

Sweetwater County Events Complex Executive Director Larry Lloyd provided a preliminary estimate of the attendance over the 13 performances. The rodeo ended last weekend.

Lloyd tells the Associated Press that he believes the attendance was comparable to or a little better than when the rodeo was held in Gillette in recent years.

Lloyd says a more complete picture of total attendance at the NHSFR would likely not emerge until Sweetwater County Events Complex personnel have a chance to review the rodeo data in detail.
