A Casper man has admitted taking money from his place of employment.

Edward Jones has pleaded guilty to one charge of grand larceny, saying he took about thirty-four hundred dollars from the Casper Animal Medical Center.

Prosecutors say the theft of the money happened several times between May and December of last year, and Jones was caught when the owner of the hospital set up a video camera in her office, where the money was kept.

Although it was dark at the time the money was taken, the video showed a man using a cell phone as a flash-light, and that person was wearing thick-framed glasses, which the owner believed to be Jones.

Casper police says Jones admitted taking the money, in order to give it to his sister, who has cancer.

As part of a plea bargain, the state will seek no more than a three and one-half to five year prison sentence.

Jones will be sentenced at a later date.
