Ed Opella who has served as city councilman of Casper as well as Natrona County Commissioner has filed to run for The House of Representatives in House District 35, taking on incumbent and fellow republican Kendell Kroeker.

Opella has been involved with local and state public offices for the past 21 years, as he has spent 11 years on the Casper City Council with 2 terms as Mayor. He was chosen to the State Transportation Commission for a six year term and served as Chairman. He went on to become a Natrona County Commissioner for a four year term and completed his last two years as Chairman.

During most of his time in various positions he sat as a member of the Amoco
Reuse Joint Powers Board and is still serving after 14 years.

House District 35 is comprised of the eastern edge of Casper, the southern
edge of Evansville and runs east to the County line.
