Road construction on a busy Casper street will be suspended next week. WYDOT is halting its rehabilitation work on Poplar Street south of Interstate 25 from July 4th through the 15th. The barricades currently in place reducing the road to one lane in each direction will be removed during that time.

WYDOT officials say the move will ease access to the fireworks festival at the Casper Events Center and the Central Wyoming Fair. Crews will resume work on July 16th.

According to WYDOT, the project is still on schedule, and a planned 10-day closure of Poplar from Bighorn Avenue to 1st Street will still happen, although a specific beginning date for that closure has not been set.
