The Board of Trustees of Albany County School District Number One have selected Dr. Jubal Yennie for the position of Superintendent of Schools in the district.  He will begin work on July 1. Yennie currently serves as the Director of Schools for Sullivan County Department of Education in Blountville, Tennessee, a position he has held since June 2010.

Yennie started his educational career in Casper, Wyoming in 1984. During a 12 year tenure in Casper, Yennie taught English at Natrona County High School, served as an Assistant Principal at Kelly Walsh High School and was Principal at Park Elementary School for five years. Yennie’s undergraduate and master’s degrees were from the University of Wyoming. In 1996, Yennie and his wife, Denise, moved with their two children to Nashville, Tennessee where he completed a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Peabody College, Vanderbilt University.

Yennie has worked in the public and private sector during his educational career. He has held administrative positions at all levels of K-12 public education and served at the Tennessee Department of Education developing technology professional development for teachers.
