CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — An oil well fire a few miles northeast of Douglas continues to burn for a fourth day.

Wyoming Oil and Gas Supervisor Mark Watson says crews have brought in water to cool the fire before spraying it with foam.

Meanwhile, the Federal Aviation Administration has prohibited anyone from flying within a mile of the fire. The flight restriction is in place for flights below 2,000 feet.

The fire broke out Sunday at a well owned by Chesapeake Energy. Chesapeake officials didn't immediately return messages Wednesday seeking information including how the fire might have happened.

Chesapeake has hired the oilfield firefighting firm Boots & Coots Services to try to bring the fire under control.

Intense oil drilling in eastern Wyoming has fallen off amid a recent decline in oil prices.
