The most dramatic weather change in Wyoming during yesterday's eclipse was felt in Douglas, where the temperature fell 11 degrees in one hour. According to the National Weather Service, the temperature at 10:50 a.m. was 77 degrees. By 11:55 a.m., the mercury plummeted to a chilly 66.

In Casper, the temperature plunged nine degrees. Outside the path of totality in Cheyenne, the temperature dipped eight degrees. In western Wyoming, temperatures fell between two and nine degrees.

Temperature swings during the eclipse were smaller in other parts of the country. Along the west coast, temperatures dropped between two to four degrees. Across the midwest and east coast, average temperatures decreased between five and six degrees.
