Double Casper College Groundbreak Begins New Construction Phase
Double groundbreaking at Casper College Monday afternoon.
Multiple dignitaries were on hand, including the Governor, to mark the formal occasion. Earth moving has already begun for the new U-W-C-C Student Union building. Construction of a new music building begins soon.
Jennifer Cowell-Depaolo, co-department head says they look forward to getting out of an old building poorly suited to the task of music instruction.
"Currently our hall- if anything is going on in Durham Hall- we can not used our two big class rooms underneath the hall. So we're going to have a building that's absolutely sound proof."
The music building will complete an arts district for the campus.
Both the Student Union and Music Building are paid for, in part, by a $35 million dollar bond issue approved by voters in 2008.
