DOT Fines Allegiant Air $100,000

Allegiant Air was fined $100,000 this week for violating rules protecting air travelers with disabilities.

Casper/Natrona County Airport Director Glen Januska says he’s not aware of any complaints filed locally.
In addition Allegiant Air, was charged with violating the U.S Department of Transportation’s rule on full fare advertising.
According to a story from the Wyoming Business Report the company failed to follow advertising rules by not indicating hidden costs like additional government taxes and airport fees.
A new advertising rule from the DOT, effective January 26th of this year, calls for carriers and ticket agents to show the total price in every advertised fare.
