A Utah man has been arrested following a stabbing incident west of Rock Springs Saturday night. Wife wanted to get her things from the home:

Joel Shuler, 31, was taken into custody following a domestic dispute.

According a release from the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office, Shuler's wife brought her brother to assist in getting her things from the home after the couple argued most of the day.

Shuler allegedly brandished a knife and made a move toward his wife when her brother intervened. Shuler was then said to have left the scene. Shuler was reportedly found at a bar by sheriff's deputies and taken into custody.

His wife was not injured but her brother had cuts to his hand. Joel Shuler is charged with three counts of aggravated assault and battery. If convicted on his current charges, Shuler may be facing life imprisonment as a habitual criminal.

On Monday Judge Dan Forgey set Shuler’s bond at $350,000 cash or surety. He remains in custody at the Sweetwater County Detention Center in Rock Springs.
