Changes to graduation requirements for Natrona County School District high schoolers are open for public comment and district officials hope to hear from folks in the community before they make final recommendations.

Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Mark Mathern says they want to hear comment on proposed changes to math and science as well adjustments to P.E. requirements and other curriculum elements.

"Our board is really interested in getting the feedback from the survey, getting feedback from the community, before they make their final decision."

Proposed changes also include additional fine arts credit, incorporating elements of civic responsibility and financial literacy and a graduation project, called a Capstone Project that officials believe allows for a greater emphasis on authentic learning.

Public comment continues through Friday, November 2nd.
