UPDATE (2:30 p.m.)

In a subsequent phone interview with K2 Radio News, Sgt. Daniel Dundas of the Casper Police Department confirmed that the suspect vehicle involved in the pursuit belongs to 307 Bail Bonds.

Dundas explained that the suspect, who is in police custody but cannot be identified by authorities until he is formally charged, is not an employee of the company. Rather, he is someone who had access to the vehicle.

Dundas added that 307 Bail Bonds "goes above and beyond" for their clients, assisting them in a variety of ways that in this case evidently included the use of a company vehicle.

The suspect, Dundas said, was wanted on a federal warrant. In the wake of this afternoon's pursuit, he will also likely face charges including eluding police, interference and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The suspect missed a federal court hearing today.

UPDATE (2:15 p.m.)

One man was taken into custody and taken to Wyoming Medical Center for treatment after jumping off of the Interstate 25 overpass at Wyoming Boulevard at the conclusion of a police chase Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. Daniel Dundas of the Casper Police Department told K2 Radio News that the suspect, whose name will not be released until tomorrow morning, failed to appear for a court hearing today. Police began pursuing the suspect in east Casper.

The suspect led officers on a chase eastbound on I-25, northbound on Cole Creek Road and then back to I-25 where he headed west to the overpass at Wyoming Boulevard.

There, Dundas said, the suspect got out of his vehicle holding a loaded handgun with a round in the chamber. He then reportedly told police officers to shoot him.

The suspect's weapon jammed, so he threw it to the ground and jumped off of the bridge, falling 23.3 feet and breaking one of his legs. The suspect was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.

Dundas added that no shots were fired during the incident and no officers were injured. The weapon apparently jammed when the suspect possibly attempted to use it on himself, Dundas said, rather than fire at officers.

The law enforcement response was mostly composed of Casper police officers, though a state trooper also took part. Evansville police officers may have assisted as well.

Traffic was not diverted from I-25 during the chase, which began at roughly 1:30 p.m. and lasted an estimated eight to 12 minutes. Traffic was flowing normally as of 2:10 p.m.
