A Casper man has admitted that he attacked his ex-girlfriend's son, shortly after the relationship with her ended.

Demetrius Jamason has pleaded guilty to one charge of child abuse.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say in August, officers responded to a call of a family fight at an apartment on South Beverly Street.

Officers saw Jameson run from the apartment saying he didn't need to go to jail and he didn't do anything.

The woman in the apartment previously had been romantically involved with Jamason.

The relationship was over, but she let him stay there temporarily, because he had nowhere else to go.

They started arguing and Jamason was gathering things to move out.

Her son told him not to hit his mother, and that's when the violence escalated.

The woman told officers that Jamason had bashed her son's head on a table and had tried to choke him.

She also told them Jamason threatened to kill her if she called police.

As part of a deal, prosecutors will seek no more than a two-and-one-half to three year prison, and Jamason must also pay more than $1,100 in medical expenses.

Jamason is being held on $5,000 bond, and will be sentenced at a later date.
