Attorneys for the Cheyenne man accused of killing his girlfriend's 13-month-old son and putting his body in a dumpster have asked for a one-day continuance.

Twenty-three-year-old Logan Rogers was scheduled to be in Laramie County Circuit Court this (Wednesday) afternoon, but his preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for tomorrow at 3 p.m.

Rogers has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangering with a controlled substance in the death of Silas Ojeda.

Investigators say Rogers told them the boy died after falling off a counter at home and that Rogers wrapped him in a white comforter and put him in a dumpster near Laramie County Community College.

The Laramie County Sheriff's Department, with the assistance of multiple agencies, has been searching a landfill west of Ault, Colorado for the boy's body since last Tuesday.

Rogers is being held in the Laramie County Detention Center on $500,000 cash bond. He is facing up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
