At least one person was killed and several others injured early Saturday morning in a multiple vehicle crash along I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. Saturday near the Vedauwoo Interchange about 15 miles east of Laramie.

Seven vehicles were involved in the crash, including several tractor-trailers, two of which were destroyed by fire. Black ice was reported in the area at the time of the crash. Two victims were taken to Invinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie and two others to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. One victim taken to Laramie was later transferred to a Colorado hospital.

The crash prompted the closure of eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 in that area. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
