The Downtown Development Authority presented Casper City council, at its last work session, with a number of short term ideas to keep the momentum going that's been started with the almost complete downtown strategic plan.

Council agreed to allocate $52,000 in development funds for visions that include downtown public restrooms, additional way finding signage, and "gate way" structures that would welcome visitors to the the downtown.

DDA executive director, Renee Penton Jones, says a Gateway project would focus initially on Center Street.

"Making suggestions as we do our fact finding and feasibility on what conceptually it could look like and just a rough idea of what the cost would be and what would be involved."

In their presentation to city council the DDA executive committee also outlined long term plans to initiate branding for the downtown area and to lend support to promotion and implementation of a strategic plan once it's finalized.
