A Cheyenne man who was hit by a semi truck while riding his bicycle late Tuesday afternoon is in stable condition.

Cheyenne Police Officer Dan Long says 55-year-old Benjamin Jeffries was riding his bike southbound on Central Avenue when he failed to stop at a stop sign on Deming Drive and collided with a semi truck.

Jeffries was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

Long says Jeffries will be issued a citation for careless driving.
