BONDURANT, Wyo. (AP) — Crews are making progress fighting a wildfire burning on about 400 acres near Bondurant.

The Packer Creek Fire is burning in heavy timber and dead trees about 28 miles north of Pinedale.

The fire was discovered Friday and was 5 percent contained Monday. Managers say crews were able to make significant progress with help from firefighting aircraft.

Full containment is expected by Saturday.

Meanwhile, a fire burning in the Washakie Wilderness since July 17 has become more active.
Higher temperatures, lower humidity and wind helped push the Hardluck Fire to the north and southwest over the weekend.

It's burning on about 6,400 acres — or 10 square miles.

Firefighters aren't trying to suppress that blaze.
