Richard Crandall, the new head of the Wyoming Department of Education, says he would like to see the state assessment results back within a few weeks instead of a few months.

Crandall says getting the results back in the spring rather than in August will allow teachers to develop a customized plan for a child who may not be performing at grade level. He says the more a child falls behind, the more difficult their education experience becomes. Crandall says waiting till August to get the results is too late to intervene with a student who may not be performing at grade level.
