Junior Chelan Landry hit the game-winning shot on a drive to the basket with 19 seconds left, and the Wyoming Cowgirls survived and advanced with a 60-58 victory over Colorado State in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Reese's Mountain West Women's Basketball Championships in Las Vegas Thursday night. The Cowgirls rallied from a 14-point deficit in the second half with a 20-3 run and made the critical plays in the final minute to move on to the semifinals against Fresno State Friday afternoon.

Wyoming (24-6) found themselves down 46-32 with about 15 minutes left in the game. The two back-up point guards, Landry and Marquelle Dent, sparked the key spurt, as they each hit a 3-pointer. The rally was capped off by a Kaitlyn Mileto three that gave the Cowgirls their first lead of the game at 52-49. The UW defense also played a vital role, as they held CSU without a point for 9 minutes of the second half.

After the teams traded 3-pointers, the Rams took a 57-55 lead, but Kayla Woodward hit a huge 3-pointer with a minute left for a 58-57 edge. A CSU free throw tied the game at 58. Then Landry hit the game winner on the drive with 19 seconds left. The Rams had one last chance, but missed a shot with two second left and UW got the rebound for the win.

Woodward led the Cowgirls with 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Mileto added 14 points. Wyoming shot 22-60 (36.7%) from the field, was 11-23 (47.8%) from beyond the arc and 5-8 (62.5%) at the foul line. They out-rebounded the Rams 45-26, which led to 17 second chance points.

Colorado State (11-19) had three players in double figures. Sam Martin scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The Rams were 22-55 (40%) on field goals, 7-16 (43.8%) from deep and 7-10 (70%) at the charity stripe.

The Cowgirls got off to a slow start and trailed 36-26 at halftime, as CSU shot nearly 52 percent from the field in the first period.

UW battled back and earned just their fifth win all-time in Mountain West tournament history. They also reached the semis for only the fourth time in program history.
