An aging parking structure in downtown Casper will soon see some major changes.

Casper City Council authorized a $250,000 Wyoming Business Council grant application for multiple major improvements to the parking ramp located between South Center St. and South Wolcott St.

Council voted unanimously in favor of the grant application at its meeting Tuesday night.

The city says it will match the grant with $250,000 of its own, using excess money generated from sales taxes.

The Casper Chamber of Commerce is listed as a primary operator of the facility.

Planned improvements at the facility include the installation of a public restroom, a coat of graffiti-resistant white paint on the interior of the facility and other safety and aesthetic improvements.
