Could Wyoming Drilling Start Up Again Soon?
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — With the price of crude oil hovering around $50 a barrel, some oil companies are contemplating resuming limited drilling in Wyoming.
Some companies are finalizing permits, reassessing drilling plans and readying teams to complete an inventory of unfinished wells.
But, few are predicting a flood of new activity in northeast Wyoming, where drilling reached a fever pitch in recent years as part of a nationwide oil boom.
Joseph DeDominic of Anschutz Corp. says his company is planning to invest some money into drilling.
Steve Kirkwood says his Casper-based company could begin drilling again later this year.
In the meantime, Kirkwood is bringing broken-down wells back online.
