Community Rec Board Seeks Candidates To Fill Vacancies

The Community Recreation Foundation, a local non-profit organization, is in the process of filling two vacancies within its Board of Directors.  The Community Recreation Foundation Board of Directors provides funding for recreation programs and scholarships which are offered to the residents of Casper and Natrona County.

Programs supported by the Community Recreation Foundation include scholarships for youth and senior citizens, free youth and family oriented special events, and other recreation related programs annually.  The scholarship program allows disadvantaged youth and senior citizens to receive a discount of up to 75% for services provided at City of Casper Recreation Center, Casper Ice Arena, Casper Family Aquatic Center, Outdoor Swimming Pools, and Outdoor Athletic Fields.

Citizens who are interested in serving on the Community Recreation Foundation Board should be willing to attend at least 6 noon-hour meetings per year and assist in two fund raising special events per year.  Board members periodically approach local organizations and businesses for support with special event sponsorship or scholarship fund donation.
