A man wanted by Denver Police for attempted murder has been arrested near Douglas. Twenty-seven-year-old Jamal Watkins was taken into custody after being pulled over for speeding on I-25 about ten miles west of Douglas. Troopers say Watkins was going 89 miles-per-hour in a 75 mile-per-hour zone, and during the traffic stop it was discovered he was on a nationwide list for a felony warrant and was considered armed and dangerous.

He was taken into custody without incident, and has been extradited to Colorado to face the attempted murder charge, along with an aggravated assault with a weapon charge.
