The official ballot for the 2012 SportsTravel Awards was announced and the 2012 College National Finals Rodeo held in Casper, Wyoming was once again nominated as the Best Multi-Sport or Multi-Discipline Event at the Collegiate Level.

The CNFR is asking its fans to vote online by visiting http://vote.schneiderpublishing.com/ballot, cast their votes for Collegiate Sporting Events: Best Multi-Sport or Multi-Discipline Event and Sports Event of the Year, fill out the e-mail information, and then click submit.  The voting is now open and the deadline for voting is Wednesday, August 15th, at 5:00 p.m. PDT.

Roger Walters, Commissioner of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association said,

“What an honor to be nominated for this award, It is nice to see the CNFR, the City of Casper, and the State of Wyoming, recognized for their outstanding efforts in producing one of the world’s greatest rodeos.”

The 2012 College National Finals Rodeo marked the 14th year for this event in Casper, WY.  This year’s CNFR welcomed 371 contestants from 82 colleges and universities, representing 33 states and four Canadian provinces.  The 2012 event recorded a 18 percent jump in ticket sales from the previous year as nearly 20,000 fans flocked to the Casper Events Center for the competition.

The CNFR shares the ballot with four other collegiate events that took place this year throughout the country.  They include:   2011 STIHL Timbersports Collegiate Championship, Salem, OR; 2012 NCAA Division II Championships Festival, Louisville, KY; 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Des Moines, IA and the 2012 NCA/NDA Collegiate Cheer & Dance Championship, Daytona Beach, FL.

The SportsTravel Awards will be presented at the TEAMS 2012 Conference & Expo, October 1 through 4, in Detroit, MI.
