Results of a series of strategic planning meetings put on by the city of Casper this spring resulted in a top five wish-list from those participating.

Of the 600 some residents invited to participate in the cities most recent strategic planning process, about 200 took part. The results presented Wednesday evening also include responses to an on-line survey.

According to Administrative analyst Pete Meyers the groups were asked to consider Casper's strengths, weaknesses and to share their long term hopes and dreams.

From the responses a list of the top-five projects most desired for the city was compiled. Sited as number one was a downtown convention center, that was followed by improved fiber optic connectivity, continued downtown revitalization, improved walk-ability, and in fifth place, a civic auditorium.

It was noted that a new library did not make even the top 10 in this exercise. There are no immediate plans for implementation.

The meeting Wednesday was facilitated by Community Builders Inc. out of Douglas.
