Casper City Council unanimously approved the third reading of a taxable industrial development revenue bond ordinance at its Tuesday night meeting.

The $3.93 million bond will go toward additional renovations at the Parkway Plaza Hotel in Casper.

Parkway Plaza owner Pat Sweeney says, now that funding from the state has been secured, needed interior and hotel room upgrades will be made.

“Most of the money for renovation will go toward ballroom carpet, new banquet chairs, more renovation to guest rooms, and hopefully, sometime this summer, the renovation of the lobby,” Sweeney said.

Sweeney says the bond does not put the city at risk and will be repaid with interest.
